This is Yorkville's Rock - right in the middle of Toronto's priciest shopping district. A rock more than a billion years old, weighing 650 tonnes, containing no precious mineral or metal, and costing $300,000.
The rock was moved from Gravenhurst, Muskoka by 20 flatbed trailers with each of the 135 pieces carefully labeled so the whole jigsaw could be reassembled. This was part of the 1991 Toronto project to have a park in the city that would display the ecological variety of Ontario.
Just one of the many unusual things to see in Toronto.
